Tony Phillips got his start coaching at the Eastmoor Summer Pool, where he also competed as an age-group swimmer. After captaining his high-school swim team (Eastmoor '90,) and setting a Columbus City-League record, he went on to earn his education degree at Otterbein College. Tony has coached Bishop Hartley's high schoolswim team since 1995. In 2010, the Hawks girls' & boys' teams placed 2nd & 8th in the state, respectively.
He is a two-time masters state swimming champion, has taught middle school math/science in Columbus City Schools since 1998, and founded the Green Wave middle-school swim team for Columbus Diocesan students in 2006.
Tony has conducted age-group stroke clinics for all swimming levels at the YMCA for over 10 years and done private stroke analyses for numerous high school, college, masters, and triathlon swimmers. He’s seen over 40 high-school athletes from his programs earn All-State honors, and is just as happy to watch a beginning swimmer compete in his or her first race!
Tony joined the Dynamo coaching staff as an assistant in 2009 and took on head-coaching duties of Capital City in 2015. He and his wife, Lori, have four kids who all equally share his enjoyment of the water.
Amber started swimming at the age of 9 in Baltimore, Maryland on the Wynnewood Warriors Swim Team. She Moved to Ohio in 2005 and started swimming on the Chevington Woods Kingfish summer team as well as the Garver YMCA. In high school, Amber focused on distance free, and achieved all-district honors in the 200 and 500 freestyle events.
In college, Amber swam with the OSU club team, and competed in national lifeguard competitions. In 2013, she was part of a lifeguard team that placed first at the state competition, and in 2015, placed second in the national lifeguarding championship.
Amber studied Respiratory Therapy at Ohio State University, and graduated in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She now works as a Respiratory Therapist at Grant Medical Center.
Tiffany got her start swimming at age 6 with her summer-league team in Gahanna. While balancing swimming and soccer as an age-group athlete, she lettered at Gahanna HS, winning OCC's & advanced to the district finals three out of her four years.
Tiffany continues to work in the field of aquatics for Gahanna Parks and Rec, and is studying early-childhood education at Otterbein University.
Jill Rhodes swam and ran competitively for 10 years, was a regional and district qualifier in high-school cross-country, track, & swimming, and ran cross country & track for Capital University. A former Green Wave swimmer and Hartley high-school swim-team captain, Jill is currently specializing in exercise science and personal training. Jill has coached competitive Green Wave middle-school swimmers in the Central Ohio Middle School Swim League, as well as age-group swimmers for the Pickerington Tigersharks in the Tri-County summer league.
Currently a student at Bexley High School, Sidney competitively swims and plays water polo. A longtime swimmer for Eastmoor Pool, Sidney has taught lessons, swam club, and coached our youngest swimmers new to competitive swimming.
She lifeguards and teaches lessons at the JCC, while also training with her siblings at Capital City Swim Club.
